Ready for the New Year?
A new year often gives us a sense of renewal and refreshment, we vow to get fit, eat healthier and go to bed earlier. But what about our workspace, our computers? Most of us spend a lot of time sat at our desk, so how about including these in your New Year to do list…?
1. New Website
Is your website up to date? Is it responsive? If you’re unsure, or think it looks like it could do with a bit of a face lift – give us a call and we can talk through your options. From updating a couple of pictures to a completely new website, we can help.
Finally take a moment to run the software updates that keeping popping up on your screen – don’t ignore that that Adobe upgrade any longer! It’s also worth making a list of the software and platforms you’ve installed, and make sure they’re all up to date too.
3. Get rid of the Spam
Clear out your inbox – delete the Spam, not just to the ‘Junk’ folder, completely get rid by permanently deleting anything you don’t need. You’ll be left with a spacious empty inbox – happy days! Ensure it stays that way by taking advantage of our Spam Filter
4. Back up the good stuff
The stuff you have left in your inbox? The stuff too important to delete… get it backed up! Along with any other precious, or important things that you have stored on your PC. Simple and quick with our back up solutions – can you afford not to?
5. Change your passwords
We know we should do it, but how many of us do? Making it a habit will ensure you keep your logins safe. New passwords should be strong (don’t use dictionary words or names) and should use a variety of characters and symbols. Make sure you don’t use the same password more than once.
6. Tidy your desk
Stop procrastinating and clear your workspace. Be ruthless and shred anything you don’t need. File the rest, leaving plenty of room for your vitamins and healthy snacks!
