Don’t just store your essential business information – Protect it!
You may think you have it covered with an ‘in house’ back up system, but how sufficient is it? Does it cover Outlook? All those essential emails… and how about the calendar? If the worst was to happen and you lost everything, how much work would it take to get back up and running? All those future appointments and re-occurring calendar entries, crucial email conversations!
Case Study: Last week we had a client asking for urgent help – what they really needed was a magic wand. They had a corrupted hard disc and needed us to recover vital business information from their computer. They thought their ‘in-house’ back up system was sufficient, and it wasn’t. They lost all their Outlook data and, whilst we pride ourselves on getting our clients out of particularly sticky situations this was one step too far. (Incidentally, even if their backup was setup to back their Outlook it was not taken offsite every night and therefore would be lost in a fire or major theft as well as all their other files and data.)
Unfortunately for this particular client they used Outlook for everything. From renewals to on going charges for every customer. They were back to square one!
Suffice to say they walked away with a tough lesson learned and a GetOnIT back up package to ensure he never has to face the same situation again.
